Easy Kale & Basil Pesto

Use frozen local kale and basil at any time of year to create this delicious homemade pesto. At a time when pine nuts are still SO expensive, you can substitute almost any nut or seed combination to make your sauce.

We've been including more walnuts this year because they support brain health, may prevent chronic disease while nourishing gut health and mood balance. They are a super source of Omega-3 fats, anti-oxidants, fiber, and a host of other nutrients.

Adding in local hemp seeds here is an easy winner! These little guys are our very own prairie super food, rich in protein, fiber and even more of those healthy fats. Hemp seeds contribute to heart, skin and joint health, and they are grown here by our neighbours!
